**********Contains Spoilers**********I really enjoyed this book. I love how even though ye Cass has a bada*se reputation after what happened to his parents and that he’s a fire mage, he’s a complete teddy bear. I loved the connection between him and his mate Tay. I liked that they courted each other as Tay has been in an eternal sleep since 1800 and Cass is an ace. They still find a way to be intimate with each other, without Cass having to do something he wouldn’t enjoy just for Tay’e enjoyment. Tay fully accepts Cass for who he is. I loved how when Cass was trying to find answers on how to wake up Tay from eternal sleep, he met Niall a vampire slave and as soon as he hears this he offers to get Niall out of there and threatens all the vampires with his fire. Niall becomes a little brother of sorts. I love how much April, Cass’s familiar takes to Tay and that she’s protective of him as well. She shields him when Cass loses control of his powers when he’s having nightmares of when his parents were killed when he lost control and he blew up. For such a sweetheart I loved how fierce Tay was when Cass was kidnapped by the b*tch Catherine, Paris’s coven leader who wanted Tay but when he rejected her because he’s gay she didn’t take it well and sent a hunting party after him. Tay’s sire puts him in an eternal sleep to save his life, she wasn’t planning on leaving him asleep for so long but each time she started to go back to wake him she was followed by the hunting party. The take Cass s it’ll force Tay to rescue him. Tay, his sire Nora and Noel and Caleb go to rescue him when April leads the way to Cass. Tay uses Cass’s fire magic to incinerate her. It’s awesome. I’d recommend this book, series and author to everyone. This was a pretty easy read. Relatively quick and enjoyable. I really liked the beginning and liked the vulnerability that Cassian showed. I wanted to give him a great big hug. His parents did him a huge disservice. Tay was cute and a good match for Cassian. I just wish Cassian would have trusted him more early on. I'm a sucker for big size differences in my MCs so I was totally on board for these guys. I also love the concept of familiars, or in this case, a semlee. It made my heart melt when all three semlees stood guard over Tay before Cassian was able to awaken him. I'd like to know how Jai and Raphael got together and I really want Niall to find his HEA.
